You want to evoke transformation in your clients, and you’ve been trained to do just that. In fact, your clients’ successes are testimony to how well you’re doing your job.
But perhaps you notice times during coaching sessions when:
Your mind gets busy and your attention drifts away from your client
You fall into a DOING mindset rather than focusing on BEING with your client
Something pulls you off balance and you lose your grounding
In those moments, it can be tempting to rely on your coaching skills and tools as the way to refocus and bring yourself back into relationship with your client.
Only it's not skills and tools that create the connection between you and your client.
It's your presence.
It's your ability to be fully present with another person.
This ability is the key to a successful coaching relationship, and thus to inspiring the change you were hired to evoke.
We believe that practicing Relational Presence is the way to keep your attention on the here-and-now in coaching sessions.
Relational Presence is the ability to be fully present with another, without agenda or distraction.
As a coach, cultivating your ability to truly be in the moment with your client is essential.
Because the more in tune you are with your client, the more effective you can be.
The Relational Presence for Coaches™ program will lead you through a process to tap into and expand your capacity for being present in relationship with your client.
Our innovative methodology will:
Raise your level of authenticity, so that you can feel more comfortable no matter what comes up in a coaching session

This six-session online program is held at intervals throughout the year. Limited to 10 participants, the program is a small-group immersion in the use of Relational Presence in coaching sessions.
Each 90-minute class focuses on Relational Presence in the context of the International Coaching Federation's updated Core Competencies.
The program is accredited by the ICF. To earn CCEs, coaches must attend all six sessions and complete short fieldwork assignments with a buddy.
Mentoring by the founders, Pam Noda and Tina Mertel, is included, with an optional path of continued mentoring after the program ends.
Coaches will leave the program equipped with:
An elevated ability to see clients for who they are
The core elements of Relational Presence (also known as Speaking Circles®) training
Enhanced skill in applying each of the eight ICF Core Competencies
The program offers growth for coaches at any level of experience.

We've been teaching Relational Presence for Coaches™ since 2016. Both of us are certified coaches with the International Coaching Federation, and are certified in Relational Presence (also known as Speaking Circles®) training.
Relational Presence is an integral component of our own coaching sessions. Tina's article "A Way to Be" in Coaching World provides a valuable introduction to Relational Presence and coaching.
Experience has taught us that being in Relational Presence with clients is the ground of coaching wisdom. From there emerges a coach’s sense of what to say when and which skills/tools to apply. From there emerges a client’s inner knowing and call to action. This combination is what yields inspired coaching from the coach and inspired results for the client.
Discover your skills in being present and where you can improve.
Establishing trust, and knowing what trust is. How do you know when you have it?
How do you know you have presence? Learn to stay open, confident, and flexible.
How do you stay focused on your client? Learn to listen for meaning, and how to hold back from your own interpretations of what's being said.
Learn the differences between direct and indirect communication and when to use them, how to communicate with the greatest impact, and notice when you shy away from what's being said.
Learn how Relational Presence affects all of the coaching competencies and create a plan for success with every coaching encounter.
